Color Point

Shorthairs

About My Color Points

Color Point Shorthairs are a bit rare. Especially red, and cream girls. At this point in time I have reds, and creams, male, and female kittens, and sometimes torties. Some of these kittens are just sweet adorable pets, some of them are nice, balanced show prospects. All kittens leave with three sets of shot, wormed, and a Veterinarian health certificate, at about 16 weeks. Some pet kittens leave here altered at my discretion.

I do ship, but prefer to escort when possible.

All whole adult cats that I did not breed, in my house, are tested negative for FeLU and FIV and get annual up date shot.

I have a closed cattery. My males are not available for stud service.  I do not use outside stud service, this way I don’t bring in unwanted problems. I have selected the healthiest possible lines for my cats. I have spent a small fortune on my breeders and bred my own males for my use only so that my kittens would have the best possible health and out come in life.

If you're interested in a kitten, pet or show, e-mail me, I’ll let you know what’s available.

My cats are registered 2200’s and do not have any registered Orientals in their background, only domestics (of non-pedigree cats) registered {some 40 years ago} for the purpose of obtaining a pointed cat only. I try for the most part, to breed Color Point to Color Point, but sometimes use my Siamese for very specific reasons (hard bodies, more refinement, better heads).

Color Points have a very limited gene pool and have recently welcomed some new blood into the CFA registry, which were already being shown in the ring along side the Color Points, but were registered Oriental of non-conforming pattern. These cats had none of the breed council benefits (in either breed group) and most were part of active Oriental programs. Some of these cats were re-registered, by the owners choice  into the Color Points, and for all intent and purpose, are now Color Point Shorthairs. This subject is very politically charged, and I don’t care anymore about it. The fact is, Oriental and Color Points are both hybrids, and do not breed true to the CFA standard. They both throw colors, (in the Color Points) or pattern, (in the Orientals) that by the standard, cross into the parent breed (Siamese) or Color Points, which they were not intended for. Those cats that do not fit the Color Point show colors are AOV, and are registered Color Point, and are still part of a very rare breed. This doesn't make them any less beautiful! While these cats look like Siamese, they are not, and you should be told by their breeder they are Color Points.

My belief is they need to stand alone as a breed. My goal, which I am actively pursuing is to not use Siamese.

I am now sharing all my CPS lines now. I have no contract prohibiting me from doing so, since  wishes are not contract,  All CPS lines in my house are now fair game.

The lines I am using now, are my original lines from old time breeders. Health and longevity are my main concern.  My eye for looks, is now a little extreme for some judges. This is my hobby, I'm breeding for a cat that can stand next to a top show Siamese cat that I find appealing, and look  like the same breed. This is the original goal of the first Color Point breeders. I'm not breeding for anyone but me. And with that said, not every kitten is for sale .

If breeders with 5200’s, want to add some diversity to their lines, their welcome to mine. My very first CPS was Triney, an AOV,  who was registered in ACA as a Siamese,  came from 5 generations, of AOV's. No pattern, no CPS colors. The 6th generation back has a Bel Canta tortie bred to a Siamese, making the line, CPS.  From there I added lynx patteren in one breeding, and red facter to another. So I have lynx and reds from two different lines that don't cross into each other to cause pattern problems. I never mix  the two patterns. My original lynx point from my very first breeding, Snowball (born in 1994), is still living with me, and except for her teeth (she has none) is in great health. Her daughter, grand-daughter, and great grand-daughter, are here also. Her lynx pattern comes from mostly Caralan but also,  Roncha, Mauminkey, and Tihan. I also have a male lynx point, with a pedigree that shows, Alsace, Sapad, and Shabou in the pedigree. I also have Snowball's half-sister Trixy, a chocolate tortie, who is still producing healthy kittens here, way past most breeding queens prime (she just delivered three kittens). Trixy's line is out of JoRene from J-Bar and Da-Glo. I'm now have three generation from that original  breeding. I also have Klezmer, O-Jus-1, Sanlino, Kat-O-Woods, CasDeCano/Teakatut, and Velva/Jeux-bi-lee. The last line tortie  mixed with lynx. I have quite a range of different lines to pull from. Plus, over the years I've add my Siamese lines which are from, Miayah, Texthai, O-Jus-1, J-Bar, Calemar, Tan Tara, Maboo, Palette, Susan's, Printer and so on. Most of my cats come from National and Regional winning pedigree, many, many Champion, Grand-Champion, and Distinguish Merit cat. My queens tend to have good size litters, four to seven consistently.

Some of the kittens can be bought with breeder rights with restrictions of my choice. Some, with one generation restriction. Each kitten, and home, is an individual case. Contracts with breeders right, are very specific.

Some of the kittens will do well in the show ring, but I’m not guarantying anything, it depends on your area and your commitment. I do have some very nice show prospects. E-mail me for information. I will be showing some breeders and show quality kittens, all for sale, on the east coast.

If your interested in kittens, pet or show, e-mail me, I’ll let you know what’s available.
